Story of going to the hospital in Canada for the first time
The other day, I had a home party with my boyfriend and friends. My boyfriend drunk too much at that time so he has hang over the next day. He vomited, twitched and couldn’t drink water. I guess, he has an acute alcoholism. He looked painful, he asked me to go to the hospital.
I knew many things at that time so I want to write about it because it was my first time.
First of all, when we call the ambulance, it costs 150dollars. In Japan, it’s only for free. But Canada need to pay.
I called taxi. The temperature was minus 20 degrees. So my boyfriend was waiting at home and I was gonna call him when the taxi arrived. I was in the apartment entrance, not in the outside. But the taxi did not come over. And then my boyfriend messaged me, “ Probably tax will not pass here. So we cannot ride if we don’t wait outside.” So bad service. I saw two taxies just gone through.
So I called Uber finally. I think many people know about Uber. Using app, when we tell the pick up place and destination, car will come over and takes us with our destination immediately. Uber cars are like private cars. App settles the charge. So we don’t need to pay by cash. We can know where is the driver at that time and how long will it take to arrive using map of app. It’s very convenient system. Uber is widespread in 500cities in the world but in Japan, is not yet.
Medical expenses is free in Canada.
He had an intravenous drip, blood test and scan.
It was all free.
We stayed over night. He also got breakfast and we came back home around 11am.
Hospital in Canada was perfect.
He is getting better. We promised to be a sober lol.
