Things you need to do in Japan to prepare for a working holiday visa.

As I'm currently on a working holiday in Montreal, I will talk about what kind of preparations and precedures I had to do in order to get my working holiday visa for people who considers getting it. 

· Applying for visa 

Some people ask agencies or visa substitution companies but this cost money. Because I tried to save as much as possible, I did it by myself. It was throbbing until I got my application. In that case, I referred to the site called “ワーホリシロップ”. As it was written very clearly, I was able to apply without trouble while looking at this site.

When you submit the documents, be sure to double check and please do it carefully. When the attached document is wrong or there is a blank column, it was written on some site that it might get delayed. When the inspection passes, a permit letter is sent to you. You copy it, go to the immigration office at the airport of Canada and show it and you will get a real visa. 

· Confirm all documents that are necessary for entering the country in Canada and the USA.

For Canada, what you need for entry at the working holiday on this site is stated. Because conditions may change, I think that it is better to check them yourself properly before traveling. In my case, I got a visa permit by showing a money certificate, letter from CIC and passport. Regarding the United States, I have been looking at various sites and contacted the site here. I was told that it is necessary to apply for esta, because I was in advance, I could enter the country without problems. 

· Overseas insurance 

I contracted AIU. My friend searched for "cheap overseas insurance" etc and got insured for less than half of me, so I think that I made a mistake here. AIU is famous so when I went to the Philippines, I contracted with them as well. 

・Mobile phone 

I used au's cell phone in Japan and paused it. Hibernation is the state where the telephone number and address remain. But after you pause, you can not use the phone, e-mail, net, so I think that it is not that much different from cancelling. The same phone number and address can be used again when you return to Japan. ※ Because it is not a cancellation but a pause, a commission is drawn about 500 yen each month. And, I am removed the SIM card (I can do it myself without going to a mobile shop) and now I am using a Canadian mobile company's SIM card in a cell phone that I used in Japan. Although I intended to return to Japan in a year, it seems that it is going to be in here for the time being, so I finally canceled it. For cancellation, there was a power of attorney (downloadable from au's site) and a personal identification. Since it is possible to ask family members, I asked my mother to do it. At this time, the commission took about 3000 yen. So it may be better to quit than to pause after all. 

・Driver license renewal 

I had to renew my driver license while I went to Canada, so I updated it before traveling. I got a new license right on the day I went. * Passport required for renewal  

・Money certificate 

Since it is necessary to submit the money certificate at the Immigration Bureau when getting a visa, I went to the bank and asked them to give it in English version. · A moving‐out notification I did it at the government office. If you submit a moving-out notification, you can stop paying the resident's tax, national pension and national health insurance. 

· Esta application 

If you have a plane switch in the US, you must apply for this. Applications can be made on Japanese sites and the application fee was $14. (Once applied, it's valid for 2 years)

· Airplane reservation 

After booking, I went to the airline's site and confirmed the weight of carry-on baggage and the number of carry cases. 

・Dentist 

My tooth is important, so I went there three months before going to Canada. 

I did all those things. Packing luggage with this will allow you to go to working holiday!
